Neil Lennon has revealed that he resorted to the ‘hairdryer’ treatment following Celtic’s 0-0 draw against Hibs at Easter Road.

A week earlier the caretaker boss had praised the players after their 3-0 win over Aberdeen at Hampden had booked their place in the final of the Scottish Cup against Hearts.

Kieran Tierney and Ryan Christie were replaced by Emilio Izaguirre and Olivier Ntcham in the side that started against Hibs but the team was barely recognisable from the one that had impressed so much at Hampden.

Lennon has been tasked with guiding the squad he inherited over the finishing line in two competitions and admitted to the Daily Record that he has had to change his approach.

I’m following in great footsteps and maybe it’s not Brendan’s way, the way I approach games.

Listen, I have this reputation as being a hairdryer-type manager. I’m not at all but there are times when they need to be told and Sunday was one of those days.

Celtic are back in action on Saturday at home to Kilmarnock looking to take three of the four points needed to put the title out of reach.

Steve Clarke could be hit with a touchline ban while Killie decide whether they will appeal against the red cards given to Kirk Broadfoot and Rory McKenzie. Former Celt Stewart Findlay is definitely suspended.

If the hoops take full points anything other than a home win for Steven Gerrard’s side against Aberdeen at Ibrox the following day will confirm Celtic as champions.
