It’s not been a great day for the SFA. Fourteen months after heralding a bright new era under Alex McLeish their board were coming to a compensation package to mutually consent him out the door.

The move was first revealed by the Daily Record on April 28, they may have got the timescale wrong, they suggested 24 hours, but the substance of the story was correct.

Today the Glasgow based publisher has come up with another exclusive from inside the bowels of Hampden, tonight they revealed:

The SFA confirmed to  Record Sport Online  that Brown ‘s case would go in front of the Hampden panel next Friday, April 26, after Celtic requested the hearing be expedited.

The case had originally been pencilled in for Thursday, May 2.

Of course the spin is to try and free Brown from a potential suspension for the Glasgow derby on May 11 but another outcome is highly likely.

In their comment about songs sung at Hampden last Sunday Celtic finally showed some backbone by highlighting issues overlooked by the media.

Whatever incident Brown has been charged over will be easily defended with some awkward questions thrown back at the SFA for overlooking numerous incidents when people haven’t acted in the best interests of Association Football.
