Mikael Lustig seems certain to have played his final match for Celtic.

The defender scored the opening goal of the game at Aberdeen yesterday but picked up a hamstring injury in the closing minutes and is expected to be out of contention for the last three games of the season.

It’s believed that he has already told close friends that he will be leaving Celtic in the summer with his Pittodrie goal his farewell to the club.

Celtic had an option to add another 12 months to his current deal but unlike Scott Sinclair the club hasn’t exercised that option.

Lustig has been linked with a couple of clubs in Sweden but will take his time before deciding to return home or not.

With Lustig out injured Tony Ralston could be in line for an incredible end to the season.

The 20-year-old has only made four top team appearances this season but is expected to start at Ibrox on Sunday with the incentive of keeping the right-back berth through until the end of the season ahead of Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan.
