Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail has quickly played down speculation that Celtic have opened talks with Jose Mourinho about taking over as manager.
Earlier this afternoon there was a flurry of speculation after Sky Sports Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio broke the story about the former Manchester United manager.
Mourinho has been out of football since picking up a £19m pay off from Old Trafford in December with Paris Saint Germain the club most likely to be his next stopping point.
McGowan has a track record of being closer to most Celtic stories than most in the media.

It does seem unusual that a clearly well connected source in Italy should break such a story which most Celtic fans would normally dismiss.
The same logic dismissed speculation about Brendan Rodgers but with Dermot Desmond able to get on the phone to anyone he likes nothing can be entirely ruled out.
