Late on Friday night Tom English decided to attack Neil Lennon and question his honesty.

Not during an interview or media conference but from the comfort of his BBC keyboard where he can sit back without being taken to task.

On Friday lunchtime English’s state funded colleagues at the BBC found Lennon on the front foot as he picked up on any slackness coming from questions during the broadcasters media conference.

When the man from the Press Association continued a tired old line about Kieran Tierney Lennon asked ‘Do you not want him to play on Sunday Ronnie?’

English’s BBC colleague Andy Burke attended that media conference and decided not to question the Celtic manager about the Guard of Honour, with a story about the ‘huge disciplinary problem’ to fill a webpage it was job done.

After the broadcasters Lennon met with the daily newspapers with their stories appearing late on Friday night.

English popped up after reading those stories, showing the same bravery that he did in 2012 when he interviewed Craig Whyte, ten days later he called in Duff and Phelps as administrators.
