Celtic have been linked with a move for Liam Kelly who is available for £50,000 at the end of the season.

The keeper has had an impressive season in the top flight as Gary Holt’s side steered well clear of the relegation dogfight and earned a call up into the Scotland squad.

Kelly came through the ranks at Ibrox but left for a two year deal at Livi last summer where a £50,000 get out clause was inserted into his contract.

Under the headline ‘UP FOR GRABS- Hamburg and Celtic among clubs interested in Livingston star Liam Kelly’ The Sun reports:

LIVINGSTON keeper Liam Kelly is available for just £50,000 this summer — with German club Hamburg weighing up a swoop.

SunSport can reveal the shock clause in the Scotland squad man’s contract which means he is available for a knock-down fee.

The article concludes

Celtic are understood to be monitoring Kelly’s situation too,  but they don’t believe he would be prepared to be an understudy at Parkhead.

Picking up an impressive young Scot with top flight experience for £50,000 makes sense but after spending five years in the sidelines at Ibrox Kelly is likely to be looking for regular first team football.

At £50,000 the 23-year-old is bound to be an attractive option for most English Championship sides while Scott Bain consolidates his place as first choice keeper at Celtic.

Kelly spent the 2017/18 season on loan helping Livingston win promotion to the top flight then made the switch permanent last summer.

Young Celtic keepers Ross Doohan and Conor Hazard have had impressive loan spells at Ayr United and Partick Thistle this season.
