Scott Brown has hit back at John Collins for joining the army of pundits and ‘experts’ that criticised his role in the last Glasgow derby.

The Celtic skipper was on the end of a series of attacks throughout the game from Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Andy Halliday.

Collins was covering the match for beIN Sports alongside Andy Gray and condemned Brown for his role in the red card issued to Morelos with the hoops midfielder pictured laughing as the Colombian left the pitch

After the match Brown became the focus of media attention rather than the brutality he was on the receiving end of. The SFA conjured up a charge of ‘not acting in the best interests of Association Football’ but after a hearing last week the prospect of a two match ban was dismissed.

Responding to the Daily Record Brown said:

Will I change? No. I am 33. I have two years left. What would be the point?

Let’s be honest. I have done not bad. I think I have had five red cards since coming to Celtic in almost 600 games.

There are a lot of people with worse records and I seem to get the blame for most things.

Every pundit, punter and ex assistant managers as well tried to have a little go at me. so that was nice. I think for everyone it is a Rangers v Celtic game, whether I play at Hearts or Aberdeen, people get on to you.

I take a lot but all I have done is celebrate with the Celtic fans after the game and if they can give it out for 90 minutes I am sure they can take it back for 10 seconds.

Brown is free of suspension for Saturday’s match at Aberdeen with Celtic looking for one point to allow the hoops captain to claim his ninth title winners medal.
