David Turnbull has passed his Celtic medical, according to BBC reporter and Motherwell fan Scott Mullen.
There was an expectation that the transfer would be completed on Friday after the player was pictured in the Celtic boardroom with Neil Lennon discussing the midfielder in his media conferences.
Bearing in mind the twists that this story has already taken there was some anxiety creeping in among Celtic fans as the evening progressed with no sign of ‘white smoke’.
Understand David Turnbull’s medical with Celtic went as planned and deal expected to be confirmed over the weekend.

With the fee agreed with Motherwell 11 days ago there are no other formalities involved other than registering the signing with the SFA and SPFL.
It’s believed that Turnbull had to travel to Manchester to undergo his medical with his signing expected to be announced over the weekend complete with social media output ahead of the Celtic squad flying out to Austria on Monday.
Lennon is hopeful of bringing in more players while Celtic are out of the country with the club internationalists also taking part in training in Austria.
