Celtic disappointed by new transfer leak

|

Celtic are ‘disappointed’ that news of their bid for David Turnbull has been made public.

On Friday afternoon Sky Sports broke the news that Motherwell had turned down an offer for their midfielder.

On Social Media their Communications Officer Grant Russell dismissed claims that Turnbull had told friends that he wanted the move to go through. There was no denial of the Celtic bid.

Earlier in the week an internal transfer document, which didn’t list Turnbull, was made public with Celtic reported to be considering it to be a criminal matter.

There is no criminality in Motherwell leaking news of an offer for a player but unless they come to a deal quickly with Celtic they could end up with a confused player wondering about the wages and signing on fee that he could be picking up elsewhere.

The Sun reports:

Meanwhile, Celtic have vowed they won’t get involved in a summer transfer saga over Motherwell’s David Turnbull.

SunSport understands Hoops chiefs are disappointed details of their verbal offer for the Fir Park teenager went public.

It is believed that Motherwell are hoping for a fee of £3m for Turnbull.
