A report from a Toulouse supporters website has suggested that the club is planning for the departure of Christopher Jullien.

Last week it was reported that the defender was a transfer target for Celtic with the fee varying between £7-10m.

That would be the upper limit of what Celtic could afford to pay out for the 26-year-old with fan site Les Violets claiming:

With the likely departure of Christopher Jullien this summer, the TFC is looking to recruit a central defender. Pablo Martinez would interest Alain Casanova . At the end of the contract with Strasbourg – and therefore free – the Franco-Spanish out of a successful season with Strasbourg (32 games, 3 goals). Nîmes, Dijon or Troyes would also be on the spot.

Celtic have a pressing need to bring in central defenders with Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata moving on since the end of the season with Mikael Lustig about to follow them out the door.

Jozo Simunovic and Jack Hendry were the only central defenders with first team experience to report for pre-season training with Marvin Compper, Stephen Welsh and Robbie Deas next on the list.

Celtic are expected to complete the signing of David Turnbull but it’s defenders that supporters are anxious to see joining up.

Jullien came through the ranks at Auxerre and joined Toulouse in 2017 on a four year deal.
