As their long running dispute with Mike Ashley becomes more and more costly the club from Ibrox have suffered their first kit embarrassment of the season.

Last season’s grey joggy suits for airport trips have been put in the dry cleaning with the players sporting dignified blue shell-suits yesterday as they checked in for the flight to Portugal for pre-season training.

New boys Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie looked the part until it was pointed out that their iconic chevrons were pointing in different directions.

On Jones’ right sleeve his chevrons were pointing downwards while former Motherwell starlet Hastie has chevrons pointing upwards.

Last season saw a number of kit discrepancies for the Ibrox side, especially in Europe when they had to comply with UEFA regulations.

In the qualifying tie away to Osijek, despite having three kits, the team played in red training tops that had been used the previous night in training.

Three new first team kits were launched last month but there seems to be regular stock problems at the St Enoch Square Superstore with only the XXXXL range readily available.
