John Kennedy isn’t worried by the daily gossip of Kieran Tierney’s likely departure.
On Wednesday he was packing his boots for the bright lights of Arsenal, this morning it’s Napoli that are poised to snap up the left back who is under contract until 2023.
A year ago Tierney was strongly linked with a move to Everton with other clubs likely to be on the chase before the month is out.
Every player at every club has their price but Kennedy isn’t about to break down over the annual bout of speculation.
“It has been the same for the last four windows, hasn’t it?” he told The Sun. “Kieran is still recovering from surgery. His rehab will continue over the next couple of weeks.
“It’s one we’ll have to monitor. He will be pushing it towards the stage of the qualifiers but we’ll have to see how he is feeling on a daily basis.”
Celtic had hoped to have Tierney fit to play in the final of the Scottish Cup but the pain of his hernia made that impossible.
From December onwards he was used sparingly as the club medics attempted to get to the root of his injury problem.
Emilio Izaguirre was initially his replacement but with the Honduran now away from the club Jonny Hayes will provide back up until the 22-year-old is back at full capacity.
