Neil Lennon provided an upbeat transfer update after Celtic’s 6-1 win over SK Pinkafeld of Austria.
There were no new signings on show but a number of youngsters took the opportunity to shine while Leigh Griffiths took a big step on his recovery with Celtic’s first goal.
In less than a fortnight Celtic face their first competitive match, a Champions League qualifier away to Sarajevo with everything geared towards negotiating through four qualifying rounds to return to the group stage.
After tonight’s win Lennon spoke to Sky Sports News
SKY SPORTS NEWS: Jullien from Toulose, is that close?
LENNON: It’s close, yeah. It’s a player that we’ve identified for a long time, even before my time here, hopefully we can get that one over the line soon.
SSN: Any update on David Turnbull?
LENNON: Yeah, we are still in negotiation. Obviously there has been a little bit of a hitch on the medical side of things but both clubs are still in negotiation.
SSN It’s not one that you are writing off yet though?
LENNON: Absolutely not, no

Celtic’s international contingent took part in their first training ground exercises today after spending yesterday having their fitness assessed.
Over the matches on Saturday against SK Weiner and on Tuesday against Swiss side St Gallen Lennon is hoping to get closer to the side that will line up against Sarajevo.
It’s unlikely that any new signings will be fit enough for the first leg but with a match every midweek the hoops boss knows that he has to get his strongest XI together quickly for the demands of Europe.
