Neil Lennon is looking to bring in three or four new players as well as David Turnbull.

The Motherwell midfielder is expected to complete his £3m transfer this afternoon after undergoing a medical to become Celtic’s first signing of the transfer window.

Hoops supporters were starting to get restless over the lack on transfer business while Mikael Lustig joined Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata on the way out of the club.

Celtic face their first pre-season match on June 26 against Pinkfeld with further friendlies on June 28 and July 2.

More importantly the hoops go into competitive action on July 9 away to Sarajevo in the first round of Champions League qualifiers as they attempt to get through four rounds to reach the group phase.

Domestically Celtic will open their defence of the SPFL at home to St Johnstone, travel to Motherwell, play Hearts at home then cross the city to Ibrox before the first international break of the new season.
