Liam McLeod gave a very broad hint that he is getting transfer information from someone inside Celtic Park.

The BBC Scotland commentator interviewed Neil Lennon after last night’s 3-1 win over FK Sarajevo with the subject of transfer business inevitably discussed.

In mid morning quotes fro Ecuador emerged claiming that discussions to sign Sergio Quintero were at an advanced stage which came as a surprise to the Celtic manager.

That stage of the interview created the main post match headlines and can be listened to from 15 minutes into the BBC podcast from last night. Interestingly in the coverage on the BBC page they use a clip from the general media conference rather than their own exclusive interview.

BBC Scotland: How are you getting on with Sergio Quintero, that looks promising as far as Celtic are concerned, by the sound of things.

Neil Lennon: I’ve never heard of him

BBC: Ecuadorian, pause, all right, OK. I’ll go back and do my research, maybe I’ve got his name wrong, I’ll have a look at that, how are you getting on with that?

NL: No that name hasn’t cropped up at all, sorry. No, all right, yeah

BBC: I’m getting duff information, I’m away over here, obviously.

NL: Are you, who from?

BBC: I’m not going to tell you, I’m not going to tell you, you might be speaking to him in a minute

NL: No he’s not popped up on the radar, we’re looking at a number of positions. I don’t think we can get things done sooner rather than later because the priority is to try and negotiate these qualifiers. The more quality we have the better our chances.

From the highlighted quotes it seems that someone inside Celtic fed McLeod the information unless there was an outsider speaking to Lennon between his BBC interview and his general media conference.
