Barak Bakhar is expecting Hatem Abd Elhamed to complete his transfer to Celtic.

The Hapoel Be’er Sheva boss had to do without the defender for his side’s Europa League ties with Laci as speculation increased around a £2m deal.

Elhamed’s agent, Dudu Dahan has been involved in a number of transfers to Celtic over the last decade with just the fine detail to be completed for the move to go through.

According to the Daily Record Bakhar said:

It’s natural that Hatem will go to a big club like Celtic that pays him a lot of money

If the transfer goes through Elhamed will be eligible to play in Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier against Nomme Kalju but Celtic will have to assess his fitness first.

The 28-year-old has been playing in central defence over the last two seasons but can also play at right-back.

Elhamed has been on loan to clubs in Belgium and Romania in the past and has picked up one international cap, replacing Nir Bitton in the 82nd minute of the 4-0 defeat from Poland last month.
