The Scottish Sun are expecting Arsenal to return with a third bid for Kieran Tierney at the same time as their English edition is highlighting how Unai Emery is writing off his side’s title prospects.

Arsenal’s reported £45m transfer budget has made them something of a laughing stock as they attempt to wipe out the memory of surrendering to Chelsea in the final of the Europa League.

Had they won that match Emery’s budget would have at least doubled with players more likely to sign up to play in the Champions League rather than the Thursday/Sunday routine on offer, sharing a dressing room with £300,000 a week superstar Mesut Ozil.

With two weeks left until the English transfer window closes only young Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli has been added to the Arsenal squad but The Sun believes that there is still another twist to their interest in Tierney.

The Sun reports:

Despite reports Arsenal had walked away from the deal, Sun Sport understands the Premier League club ARE still in the frame. Napoli are also waiting in the wings should they offload left-back Mario Rui. Both clubs, though, will have to match Celtic’s £25m valuation if they want to land Tierney.

Arsenal have already had two bids turned, down, but with the English transfer window open until August 8, it seems likely they will return to the table. That could mean a re-adjusted offer, with more cash up front and the remainder coming after certain revised contract clauses are met.

After losing Aaron Ramsey to Juventus on a free transfer Arsenal are growing concerned about reports that Manchester United are interested in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has two years left on his current contract.
