Jamie Murphy is the latest star to find himself being pushed down the marble staircase out of Ibrox.

The winger left Brighton on loan in January 2018 with a permanent deal to Ibrox sealed four months later as he signed a three year contract for a fee reported to be around £1.5m.

Steven Gerrard has spent the summer bringing in a job lot of squad fillers and is now virtually giving players away to justify the summer intake.

Young McCrorie- tipped as a future Scotland captain has been shipped out to Portsmouth for a season in the third tier of English football with Jordan Rossiter- in the final season of his lucrative contract- discussing a pay off before moving on loan to Fleetwood Town.

Loan deals for Ryan Hardie and Glen Middleton fell through after the managers at Blackpool and Doncaster but according to The Sun Murphy could be on his way to Blackpool to play at the same level as Rossiter and McCrorie.

Boyhood Gers fan Murphy is determined to make his mark under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox. But Blackpool are tracking his situation as they consider a move to try and lure the ex-Brighton star back down south. New Seasiders boss Simon Grayson is an admirer of Murphy having looked to sign him for Sunderland two years ago.

Gerrard has constantly been talking up Alfredo Morelos in an attempt to generate interest in the striker and has admitted that the only way of bringing back Ryan Kent is if Liverpool sanction another loan.

Andy Halliday is under contract for 11 more months with no talk of a new contract for the former Livingston starlet.
