Celtic fans are no longer showing the love for Tom Rogic.

The Australian has scored some of the most memorable goals during the current Treble Treble run of success but has become increasingly hampered by injuries.

A recent report on the Celtic by Numbers website revealed that Rogic had played the equivalent of less than 30 full matches in each of the last three seasons.

Celtic’s interest in David Turnbull would have brought younger competition for that role with Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie already capable of playing and getting goals in the advanced midfield role.

Despite having no international commitments this summer Rogic was left behind from Celtic’s pre-season training camp in Austria and Switzerland.

In their most recent pre-season match Neil Lennon played with two strikers in each half of the win over Wiener which would pose an obvious threat to the ‘Rogic role’ that Brendan Rodgers created.

Should Zenit meet Celtic’s valuation of Rogic there is likely to be competition for his signing from England with Southampton and Leicester the obvious options.
