Kris Boyd has made an incredible claim against Celtic supporters critical of their club after the Champions League defeat from Cluj.

The man that scored ONE career goal against the hoops during his 18 year career in football told readers of The Sun that Celtic fans are:

For me they’re just too arrogant, spoiled and big-headed to see it.

Last season while taking a wage out of Kilmarnock between media shifts with The Sun, Sky Sports, TalkSPORT, Radio Scotland and others he made 19 appearances in the SPFL scoring two goals.

Four years earlier during a season at Ibrox in the second tier of Scottish football Boyd scored three times in 29 appearances.

Boyd added:

I’m talking about the fans who have been living in Cloud Cuckooland for too long now. I just don’t know who they think they are. I’ve heard it said how Celtic are too good for the Europa League and how they would rather not have any European football if it’s not the Champions League.

Boyd has absolutely no understanding of Celtic or Celtic supporters, none, Cloud Cuckooland however is a place that he is very familiar with.

Most of the criticism has been rational and detailed, several well thought out articles have appeared on social media but it’s easy to pick up on a few nameless comments on social media. They could be made by people from the same village as the Ayrshire goalscoring legend.

Had his own fellow travellers came up with some reasoned arguments during the early years of this decade his old club may have survived. Instead with the thought process of Boyd they came up with articles such as a list of ‘Enemies of Rangers’ which included a cafe selling ice cream and jelly.

The pain of the last eight years really is overwhelming for some.

As he accepts the plaudits of his peers Celtic fans will as ever ignore Boyd in the same way as he ignored the scoresheet in all but one of his many appearances on the pitch against vastly superior defenders.
