Club 1872 has issued an ominous statement naming the racist terms that will see Ibrox closed if they are heard.

Seven days after their 0-0 draw away to Legia Warsaw the club from Ibrox have been hit with their second racism charge of the season.

The first charge from the home tie against St Joseph’s was kept quiet for over a month but staring a ground closure in the face the club has sent out the message about the consequences of airing their domestic song-book at UEFA matches.

Club 1872 state/warn:

To be absolutely clear, songs, words and terms classed as sectarian by UEFA include ‘The Billy Boys’, any reference to “fenians” or any pejorative terms about Catholics or the Pope. The charges do not relate only to one song but to anything in the brackets above, including add ons to otherwise inoffensive songs.

We share some of the concerns over the lack of transparency, accountability and consistency in the operations of FARE. However, those concerns cannot be properly addressed while we are in a position where FARE can provide UEFA with video evidence of sectarian singing involving even a small number of Rangers supporters, as was the case in Warsaw.

Today’s news was held back until after Steven Gerrard’s media conference in which he called for vociferous backing from the 47,000 fans.

Following the racist actions against St Joseph’s 3,000 seats will be empty tomorrow night with the slogan #equalgame stretched across the area normally occupied by the ultra group Union Bears.

Legia are believed to be bringing 1,800 fans to the match with the Polish supporters well known for their ferocious backing of their team.
