Neil Lennon has confirmed that Celtic are actively looking to bring in a new left-back.

Interest in Greg Taylor and Birger Meling varies from day to day and from publication to publication with just over five days left in the transfer window.

Over the last week Celtic have brought in Fraser Forster and Moritz Bauer have been added to the squad without too much being taken out of the transfer surplus created by the sale of Kieran Tierney.

Boli Bolingoli has been brought in at left-back but Callum McGregor appears to be next in line if the Belgian is unavailable.

Speaking at his media conference to look at tomorrow’s match against AIK as covered by Celtic TV::

Q) Are you close to signing a left-back?

Neil Lennon: Well we are looking at options. We’ve showed a bit of interest in quite a number. Again, these things, whether they be agents or other clubs, there is always stumbling blocks, you have to show a bit of patience. We are still looking to strengthen that area.

Bauer is with the Celtic squad in Sweden even though he is ineligible to play but will train with his new team-mates tomorrow.

Despite not having played a competitive game this season Lennon hasn’t ruled out giving the Austrian internationalist his Celtic debut at Ibrox on Sunday.
