Celtic’s transfer plans aren’t dependent on picking up a £25m fee for Kieran Tierney.

Tonight’s Champions League qualifier against Cluj was almost overlooked yesterday as Neil Lennon looked ahead to a tie which could edge Celtic closer to a £30m plus windfall.

Lennon has known his main transfer targets all along with three defenders brought in so far as well as Luca Connell.

Another central defender and a right-back would satisfy most supporters with the transfer horizon clearing up at 5pm tomorrow when the English window closes.

The Daily Record reports:

We have done no business this weekend or made no real inroads. We have money to spend if needed.

It appears that progress in the Champions League will have a two fold effect on Celtic’s transfer plans with qualification releasing more funds and making the club more attractive to players.

Should Celtic succeed against Cluj they will face Slavia Prague in the Play Off round with just less than a week to go before the transfer window closes.
