Chris Sutton believes that one of Celtic’s transfer issues may have been resolved today.

Until 3pm today Vakoun Bayo was something of a mystery figure with three substitute appearances barely reaching 20 minutes since his January transfer to the club.

With very few exceptions Brendan Rodgers’ last three transfer windows were disastrous with Bayo in danger of being grouped alongside Marvin Compper, Jack Hendry, Oli Burke, Jeremy Toljan and Charly Musonda.

Bayo was the shock starter when the Celtic side was announced but after 30 minutes he either scored or forced Christophe Berra into an own goal.

After the break he hit the woodwork and scored Celtic’s third goal before being given a great ovation as he left the field with cramp in the 77th minute.

Bayo was given the sponsors Man of the Match award and is now ready to joust with Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths for a striking role, opening up the option to Neil Lennon of playing with two strikers.
