Celtic flew out the traps in their defence of the SPFL title with a 7-0 home win over St Johnstone.
Despite the efforts involved in European ties that will see them playing in Estonia and Romania within the space of 10 days the hoops made sure that nothing was spared on the domestic front as they set off in search of a ninth successive title.
The suspensions to Jozo Simunovic and Christopher Jullien had no impact on the performance with Mikey Johnston opening the scoring in the ninth minute.
Ryan Christie then scored a hat-trick- all from outside of the penalty box- as St Johnstone were made to suffer in the sun.
Substitute Olivier Ntcham then scored with his first touch before strikers Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths completed the scoring to leave the hoops at the top of the SPFL after matchday one of the new campaign.
After the trip to Cluj Celtic are back in SPFL action on Saturday away to Motherwell.
