Greg Aitken will referee Sunday’s SPFL match between Celtic and Kilmarnock.

The Ayrshire based official has been breaking into the lucrative top flight appointments over the last two seasons. In his only Celtic fixture last season the hoops beat St Johnstone 2-0 at home at the end of January.

In Aitken’s only other Premiership fixture this season Hearts drew 2-2 at home to Hamilton, at the weekend he was in charge of East Fife’s 3-1 win away to Montrose.

Despite stepping down from the elite FIFA list Andrew Dallas will be the man in the middle when St Johnstone host Steven Gerrard’s side in the early kick off on Sunday. Douglas Ross will be one of his assistants.

Next Wednesday Steven McLean will referee Celtic’s Betfred Cup quarter-final at home to Partick Thistle.

Spanish referee José María Sánchez will be in charge of Thursday’s Europa League away to Rennes.
