Kevin Clancy will referee Saturday’s match between Hibs and Celtic.

Last season the FIFA listed referee was involved in a number of controversial decisions that all went against Celtic.

The worst decision of all from Clancy came in the May Glasgow derby when he watched Jon Flanagan elbow Scott Brown in the face as the Celtic skipper waited for a corner to be delivered. The SFA Compliance Officer upgraded that decision to a red card but that was in itself overturned on appeal.

Last November he decided that a verbal warning was sufficient for Dolly Menga after he attempted to head-butt Ryan Christie. The SFA gave the Livingston forward a retrospective red card.

A month later during the 1-1 draw with Motherwell at Fir Park Clancy chopped off a perfectly good goal from Filip Benkovic for no good reason.

Seven matches into the season Bobby Madden has been given his second appointment to Ibrox, after handling the Celtic match earlier this month he will be in charge on Saturday for the visit of Aberdeen.

Scotland’s referees are sponsored by Specsavers..
