Christopher Jullien loved the family day out at Ibrox that made him a fans favourite.

Two months after signing for a £7m fee from Toulouse Celtic fans were unsure what the club had taken on, there were promising signs but in the current age every weakness is micro-analysed.

There is one test that every Celtic player must pass and that involves standing up to the hostility at Ibrox, having the nerve to stand strong and play your normal game when the pressure is on and any sign of weakness is seized upon.

When the Celtic side was announced at 10.45am yesterday all eyes instantly looked across the defence where there were three newcomers to this fixture, midfielder Nir Bitton and Fraser Forster who returned to the club less than a fortnight ago. The third keeper to have played in the SPFL this season for Celtic.

Jullien produced a masterclass- heading everything that was directed into the penalty book whether it was Bitton or Hatem Abd Elhamed that was by his side. His joy and satisfaction was obvious as The Sun reported:

I have no words for the job we did. It was great — perfect. We did a good job as a team. Everyone was like a family on the field, the victory is just perfect.

Before every match we say we have to talk to each other and when you are a family out there you do it. It was a really good performance and enjoyable.

Celtic left Ibrox with more than three points yesterday, the summer recruits proved their worth as Neil Lennon’s side put their stamp down domestically with the autumn campaign eagerly anticipated.
