The striker missed Thursday’s 0-0 draw at home with Italy due to a slight hamstring injury but has posted an image from training on his Instagram account.
After an impressive showing at the u-19 European Championships during the summer he has stepped up to u-21 level with ease, helping Ireland to win their first three matches in their European Championship campaign.
Celtic signed the striker after his Southampton contract had expired with his powerful play impressing in the reserve matches against Morton and Albion Rovers.
With Vakoun Bayo still to prove himself and doubts over the fitness of Leigh Griffiths Afolabi could soon find himself in contention for a first team place at Celtic.
The 19-year-old will next be in action for Celtic on October 22 when Tommy McIntyre’s side travel to face Dunfermline in the Reserve League Cup.
