Kris Ajer enjoyed one of his finest international moments last night as Norway held Spain to a 1-1 in Oslo.

The Celtic defender has had a tough time of it in his last couple of domestic matches but wearing the shirt of his country he ended Spain’s 100% record in Group F.

Despite having only 40% possession the Norwegians stuck gamely to their task after falling behind to a goal from Saul Niguez two minutes into the second half.

Deep in stoppage time Joshua King equalised from the penalty spot to keep alive Norway’s hopes of making it through to next summer’s finals although they also have the insurance policy of the Nations League play-off’s route.

Romania and Sweden are above them in the group table but avoiding defeat in Romania followed by wins over the Faroe Isles and Malta should see them into second place with their group rivals still to play Spain.

Mo Elyounoussi was an unused substitute against Spain with Stefan Johansen captaining the Norwegian side.
