Kris Ajer has revealed that he gets fined every time he speaks Norwegian in the Celtic dressing room!
For two years the big defender was the only Norwegian at the club but that has changed in the last couple of months.
Teenage defender Leo Hjelde followed the ‘Ajer Route’ when he signed from Rosenborg in the summer with Mo Elyounoussi joining on loan from Southampton towards the end of the transfer window.
Ajer now gets the chance to speak in his native language but it can be a costly business as he explained to Norwegian station TV2:
We get fines from Scott Brown for Norwegian talking in the dressing room, so that’s fine, There are fines every time we speak Norwegian. I’m good at chatting away, so it ends up with Mo having to pay a fine, 100 pounds every time you speak Norwegian. And if you come from Southampton and the Premier League, it’s £200,
Ajer and Elyounoussi are on international duty this week with matches against Spain and Romania over the next few days.
Spain look like winning Group F with a 100% record after six matches with Norway, Sweden and Romania competing for second spot with just two points seperating them at the moment.
