Image for Lennon reveals fresh Rogic injury worry

Neil Lennon welcomed three players back to training on Monday but Tom Rogic has a new injury concern.

Mikey Johnston, Nir Bitton and Leigh Griffiths are all in contention for a role against Cluj as Celtic look to build on the point that they picked up away to Rennes.

That trio should provide a few options but after getting 90 minutes and scoring against Partick Thistle last week Rogic has a minor knee injury.

Speaking to Celtic TV Lennon said:

We are looking healthy, we have no fresh injuries. There’s a few bumps and bruises, Moritz [Bauer]’s ankle is still a little bit swollen. Nir Bitton is back in training now, Mikey Johnston is back in training now, so the only long-term absentee is Jozo.

Tom Rogic has a tiny little bit of fluid around the knee but he should train on Wednesday. Griff is back in training now but obviously he has missed a few weeks of training but in terms of squad depth we’re good.

Rogic missed out on Celtic’s pre-season training programme, making his first appearance of the season against Hamilton on September 14 when he replaced Mo Elyounoussi for the last 25 minutes.

In his absence Ryan Christie has reinforced his place as Celtic’s ‘number 10’ with 11 goals so far to make him the club’s top scorer.

With a heavy fixture schedule before the turn of the year- including nine matches during December- a fully fit Rogic will be a welcome addition to Lennon’s first team squad.
