Neil Lennon will find out the extent of Scott Brown’s ankle injury later today.

The Celtic skipper took a knock during the 2-0 win over St Mirren and was replaced by Olivier Ntcham for the last 20 minutes.

Despite being the oldest outfield player in the squad Brown remains the first pick in Lennon’s side with his partnership alongside Callum McGregor a strong feature of Celtic’s play.

Looking concerned Lennon said:

He has just rucked his ankle; we will just have to wait and see how he is tomorrow. It’s not like him but we’ll keep our fingers crossed that it’s not too serious.

If Brown fails to recover in time for Saturday’s match against Hibs Ntcham would be the obvious replacement although Ryan Christie could move back with Tom Rogic or Ntcham moving into the advanced midfield role.

Leigh Griffiths and Mikey Johnston are expected to resume full training today but it’s unlikely that either will be pushed into action against Hibs at Hampden.

Boli Bolingoli is a certain starter at Hampden with Greg Taylor cup-tied after playing for Kilmarnock against Hamilton Accies before his deadline day transfer to Celtic.
