On the morning of another High Court hearing with Sports Direct only The Sun of the mainstream Scottish publishers is prepared to share that news with their readers.

Elsewhere the news that could lead to the company ‘paying many millions of pounds’ has been kept off the agenda with a stream of feel good stories in it’s place.

Richard Gough, James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos are all involved with a few nudges towards Steven Gerrard eventually replacing Jurgen Klopp to confirm his managerial quality.

Around 3pm yesterday an update was provided for today’s High Court hearings with both parties appearing before Lionel Persey QC at 10.30am.

The exact nature of today’s hearing isn’t known but after a three day hearing in June the findings were published in July which carried the warning of paying back millions of pounds.

King and his club have been found to be in breach of the 2017 contract that gave Sports Direct matching rights for future retail and merchandising deals.

Sports Direct were frozen out in favour of Hummel and Elite but in his July ruling Persey confirmed that the Hummel and Elite deals won’t be valid next season.
