President Mita of Albania was one of the first to congratulate Celtic after their 2-0 win over Cluj in the Europa League.
A trip to Sarajevo in July proved to be life changing for Albania’s leading politician as he bumped into some Celtic fans in town for something different from the usual rounds of diplomatic meetings.
Since then Mita has been smitten, following the hoops closely through social media with the emphasis always on the passion of the supporters as they cheer their team on whatever the circumstances.
My sincere congratulations to all @CelticFC? fans for this great win today! Extraordinary emotions! Congratulations on the first place in Group E of the Europa League! You are wonderful! Love you so much! Hail hail! ?? #CelticFC #CELCLU #UEL pic.twitter.com/4YOy4mQ5ah

The last time Cluj were in Glasgow brought crushing disappointment but two months later redemption was at hand as Neil Lennon’s side earned a 2-0 win to move in to top spot in Group E.
While the players did their job on the pitch they were backed throughout by the fans with millions worldwide watching the action on telly- including our man in Tirana- President Mita.
