Celtic have been handed an extra allocation of tickets for the Betfred Cup semi-final against Hibs next month.

The Edinburgh side were given tickets for the whole of the West Stand but are believed to have sold less than half of that allocation for the match on November 2.

Neil Lennon’s side will now be backed by three quarters of Hampden as they attempt to reach the final of the competition for the fourth year running.

At the semi-final of the competition in 2017 Hibs demanded that they get half of the tickets for the North Stand, when it became obvious that they had over-estimated the demand from their supporters Celtic couldn’t be allocated the un-sold West Stand due to segregation issues.

The additional tickets should ensure that those Celtic fans on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme and who attended the earlier round matches against Dunfermline and Partick Thistle can now attend the semi-final.

The match kicks off at 5.30pm and will be shown live on BT Sport.
