Ally McCoist has accused the Green Brigade of becoming an embarrassment to Celtic.

The comments were made on TalkSPORT this morning in relation to the club’s decision to close part of the ‘rail seating section’ of the stadium for Thursday’s Europa League tie against Rennes.

It seems that a number of issues covering over-crowding, the use of Pyro and anti-Fascist banners prompted the decision which was made public three days ahead of the Rennes match with many fans already booking travel and accommodation.

Regular fines from UEFA for Pyro use is clearly an issue but it’s one that comes with a standard fine in the range of £10-12,000. Some would suggest that publicity and merchandising has more than covered the costs of UEFA fines.

The dispute between the Green Brigade and the club is on-going with the Ultras group still to receive their ticket allocation for December fixtures including the League Cup Final at Hampden on December 8.

As a manager McCoist was involved in cup defeats to Alloa, Forfar, Queen of the South, Forfar and Raith Rovers.
