Chris Sutton has attacked the media agenda that Celtic fans have brought the trouble on themselves during their trip to Rome.
Last night two supporters were stabbed with most reports making reference to some banners and chants from the Celtic support in the home tie last month.
One banner featuring Mussolini being hanged has attracted particular attention with Chris McLaughlin describing the fascist dictator as Italy’s wartime leader.
The term reprisal has been used in a number of reports to explain the threat to Celtic fans with Sutton applying some badly needed balance to the situation.
Lots of stuff being said about the banners displayed by a section of Celtic fans the other week and whether they were justified or not. The bottom line is no football fan deserves to be stabbed going to watch their team play…

Over 10,000 Celtic fans are expected in Rome for tonight’s match with Neil Lennon’s side going to the Stadio Olympico as leaders of Europa League Group I.
Special buses have been laid on from 2pm to take fans to the stadium but some supporters will be wary of using the transport since it will easily identify them within the city.
If you condone stabbing of football fans your a disgrace! Shambles people can get seriously hurt over such stupid things ??? hope anyone injured is ok ?
