International week can be duller than a rainy week in November but one caller to Radio Clyde’s Super Scoreboard programme tonight decided to let off some out of season fireworks.
Celtic’s lack of striking alternatives to Odsonne Edouard is well known but completely out of left field the first caller of the night suggested that ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC is the man to join the hoops in January.
The legendary Swede played at Celtic Park for Ajax in 2001 with the memories of that night staying with him through a career that has covered the biggest clubs in Europe including Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United before switching to LA Galaxy last year.
Despite turning 38 last month the Swedish icon has averaged almost a goal a game in the MLS and is now available as a free agent for one last stint in Europe.
As an international team-mate of Henrik Larsson and Mikael Lustig he will be well aware of Celtic throughout his career- whether he will get to pull on the colours that those Swedes graced for seven years is probably as long a shot as seeing Robbie or Roy Keane in a Celtic shirt.
