After his incredible display against Lazio in midweek Scott Brown chalked up another Celtic milestone- making his 550th appearance in the 2-0 win over Hibs.
During his 12 years at Celtic he has picked up nine league winners medals as well as captaining the club to three back-to-back trebles.
At the age of 34 he appears to be as good as ever, taking pride in the challenge posed by much younger opponents and the twice a year suggestion that his best days are behind him.
Without question his decision to retire from international football has been to his and Celtic’s benefit.
Getting a ten day break each month during September, October and November has allowed Brown to enjoy a brief rest while his season now ends in May rather than stretching into mid-June with often pointless internationals and tours.
While many of his team-mates are scattered across Europe this week the Celtic captain can enjoy a little rest, some golf and recharge his batteries ahead of the nine games in 28 days December fixture list.
