‘Hi Virgil, I’m Scott from Celtic, do you remember me?’
Scott Brown has made a hilarious appearance on a DVD tribute to Virgil van Dijk.
The video clip starts thoughtfully, going through the players childhood, early football stages with a brief interview in Dutch with his Groningen manager Virgil van Dijk.
As the defender reflects on his career to date he turns around to the screen and is greeted with his captain from 2013-151
Broonie- 3 min 40 sec
Van Dijk took a couple of weeks to settle into the Celtic side but quickly stood out as an outstanding footballer with the only criticism being that he seemed to be playing within himself, that he could be playing in slipper. The same criticism appeared at Southampton, now at Liverpool it’s simply recognised as his style.
Celtic picked up a £10m profit from his two years at the club and around £5m more in a sell on clause when he became the most expensive defender in the world but wherever he goes he won’t forget the character called Broonie!
