Neil Lennon is on course for a triple winger boost in time for the League Cup Final on December 8.

Fears that Jonny Hayes had popped or dislocated his shoulder seem to have receded while the hoops boss is confident of having Mikey Johnston and Moi Elyounoussi back in contention for the side.

Johnston hasn’t played since the derby day success at Ibrox in September while Elyounoussi missed out on international duty and the 4-0 weekend win over Livingston.

Asked about Hayes on Celtic TV last night Lennon said: “He’ll have a scan this evening and we’re hoping that it’s just a muscle injury. If that’s the case then we’re hoping that he should be good to go in the next week or so.

“We’ve got a couple coming back now. Mikey Johnston is training again and we’re hoping that Moi (Elyounoussi) will be training by the end of the week. So, fingers cross that Jonny’s isn’t as bad as first feared.”

On Wednesday Lennon will preview the Europa League tie against Rennes where he has a few issues over available full-backs.

Jeremie Frimpong isn’t eligible while Hatem Abd Elhamed is out for a few more weeks, on the other side injuries to Hayes and Boli Bolingoli mean that Greg Taylor seems certain to start.
