Normally Rod Stewart travels hundreds of miles to watch Celtic in action but last night he found himself in a tricky situation.
The singer found himself on tour in the same city as his favourite football team but unable to get along to watch Neil Lennon’s side in action.
Seven years ago Stewart had broken down in tears watching Celtic beating Barcelona but against Rennes there wasn’t quite the same emotions involved as he performed four miles along the River Clyde at the SEC.

Lots of fans would have booked concert tickets months in advance with the Celtic v Rennes match only confirmed at the end of August.
‘The show must go on’ however with no shortage of reminders for football fans at the SEC with a special Celtic backdrop while news of goals from Lewis Morgan, Ryan Christie and Mikey Johnston quickly made its way across the city.
