Leigh Griffiths has paid tribute to his Viking team-mate Kris Ajer.
The Norwegian helped rack up another clean sheet at Tynecastle last night as Celtic proved too strong for Hearts to ease five points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership.
Alongside Chris Jullien in central defence Ajer has formed a highly effective partnership in front of Fraser Forster.
Celtic have only lost two goals in their last seven domestic matches as they claimed the League Cup and created a five point advantage at the top of the SPFL Premiership.
With Hatem Abd Elhamed and Jozo Simunovic both out injured the Jullien/Ajer partnership has had little chance of rotation with both players getting 45 minutes last week in Cluj while most of their team-mates were rested.
Griffiths came on for the last 10 minutes of last night’s win and continued to look closer to his old self in terms of match sharpness as he harried and closed down the Hearts defenders.
