Michael Stewart has dubbed Loic Damour a court jester after his verbal attack on Scott Brown.

The Jambos journeyman earned 15 minutes of fame by claiming that Brown ‘I think that’s his name’ was the King of Scotland and refereed every match. It seems that his match preparation was reading old quotes from Craig Levein.

Damour was given the run-around by Brown and his team-mates at Tynecastle on Wednesday night leaving Hearts rooted in bottom place alongside Hamilton Accies who they play today.

Criticising Brown deflected attention away from the fact that Hearts have won one out of nine home matches in the SPFL Premiership this season with Stewart unforgiving in his comments about Damour.

From his column in The Sun the former Hearts and Hibs midfielder writes:

The Hearts midfielder might have thought he was clever by branding Broony the ‘king of the league’. But all he did was show himself up to be the Jambos’ unfunny court jester.

In one respect he is right. The Celtic captain HAS ruled this league for the best part of a decade. Damour, in contrast, has turned up for just ONE game this season, and that was on Wednesday. Even then he ran about for 40 minutes before disappearing in the second half.

This is the same guy who ball-watched when James Forrest raced through on goal. Forrest didn’t score — luckily for Damour — but he just stood aside and let him through. So rather than mouth off and say things like: “Brown?.?.?.?I think his name is?” he’d be better trying to do his talking on the pitch instead.

This, remember, is someone Craig Levein handed a four-year deal to back in August. So he’s been at the club for four months without making any impact on a struggling side. He’s done next to nothing. And he still doesn’t know who Scott Brown is? You’d be forgiven for thinking it would be the other way around.

If that’s the case I’d be asking if Damour has a clue about ANY opponent he has in this league. And in his attempt to undermine Brown he has made himself look like a fool in my eyes.

In his 12 seasons at Celtic Brown has won more honours than Hearts have in their entire history.

After today’s trip to Hamilton Damour has home matches against Hibs and Aberdeen to back up his bold words.
