One Celtic fan appears to have prompted the club into completing Nir Bitton’s new contract.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a typical week at the club- coming on as a substitute in the League Cup Final, playing a half each alongside Chris Jullien and Kris Ajer away to Cluj then alongside both players against Hibs.

With his contract expiring in the summer Neil Lennon was keen to get Bitton signed up with mystic Martin McLaughlin on the same wavelength.

Lennon signed the young midfielder in 2013 during his first stint in charge of the club with the £800,000 fee paid to Ashdod proving to be money well spent.

Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers both continued to turn to the Israeli internationalist even though it’s been a few seasons since he was a regular first pick in the side.

With more than 200 first team appearances and seven championship medals to his name Bitton knows exactly what it takes to deliver success for Celtic.
