Dave Cormack has been deleting items from his Twitter account.

The Aberdeen chairman cuased a storm in the early hours of December 26 when he launched an incredible attack on Kris Ajer and Leigh Griffiths. CLICK HERE to read the edited Twitter account.

Responding to the claims Neil Lennon told The Sun:

There was no feigning injury, there was no play acting. Kris Ajer is a model professional and I’m not having somebody from the Aberdeen board talking about one of my players like that.

First of all it’s not true, it’s a LIE. Second of all, these things should be kept in-house. We’ve been very balanced on the whole issue, we tried to play it down. But when you see comments like that coming out from the chairman of Aberdeen, we’re not tolerating that as a club and certainly I’m not as a manager.

Every team in the country would want him [Ajer] in their team. He’s a model professional on and off the field and I think it’s very naive from Mr Cormack. I’m hugely disappointed by it. It’s an attack on my player and he’s done absolutely nothing wrong. In fact, the comments are absolutely disgraceful.”

Cormack’s comments were warmly welcomed by most Aberdeen fans but he had nothing to say before or after the festive fixtures against Livingston or Hearts. As 2020 begins the Dons trail behind Motherwell in fourth place in the SPFL Premiership.

Without adding to his Twitter account Cormack has deleted his comments about Ajer and Griffiths.

Club officials have a responsibility to act in the best interests of the game, concentrating their comments on matters involving their club. Not allegations about opposing players. Yesterday the SFA Compliance Officer charged Ryan Christie over an incident on December 29, Cormack tweeted about the Celtic players three days earlier.

The SFA rejected Aberdeen’s appeal against Cosgrove’s red card, a week after Cormack’s allegations about two Celtic players it seems that the new Dons chairman has escaped punishment with the SFA turning a blind eye to his comments.
