Despite appearing to miss out on Fabricio Bruno Celtic are reported to be looking at other defensive options in South America.

Celtic haven’t looked at that part of the world for players since the ill-fated move for Rafael Sheidt but appear to be showing serious interest.

Cruzeiro went public claiming that Brono’s agent had met with Celtic in London but with an on-going legal wrangle over his contract he appears to be bound for Red Bull Bragantino.

Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail seems to get closer than most to Celtic’s transfer business and reports:

Cruzeiro central defender Fabricio Bruno, meanwhile, is poised to stay in Brazil with Red Bull Bragantino despite agitating for a move to Glasgow. Celtic are assessing other defensive options in the South American market.

The return to training in Dubai of Jozo Simunovic and Hatem Abd Elhamed has given Neil Lennon a welcome boost after being dependent on Kris Ajer and Chris Jullien during the last two months of 2019.

Dealing with multiple agents and work permits can be a major problem with South American players but if homework is done in advance some of those issues can be minimised.
