Stephen McGowan has killed off rumours that Celtic were ready to sign Mohanad Ali.
The story apparently first appeared on an Italian website and grew arms and legs through the day with desperate publishers wanting to ensure that they had covered the claim.
How an Italian website picks up on an Iranian going to Celtic is difficult to figure out unless there was an attempt to drum up interest in Italy. Apparently Ali plays for Al Duhail which sounds like the sort of team name used in an April Fools story.
McGowan of the Daily Mail has a better track record than most with Celtic transfer stories and quickly killed off the prospect of an Iranian moving to Glasgow.

Over the last two matches Celtic have switched to playing two strikers with Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths both scoring at Kilmarnock in midweek.
New signing Patryk Klimala and Vakoun Bayo were both among the substitutes but with rumours of Bayo going out on loan there may still be the prospect of a new striker coming in.
