Celtic dug deep into their resolve to earn a 2-1 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

The result puts Neil Lennon’s 13 points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership table with their 100% record for 2020 still intact.

Aberdeen escaped the torrential rain of Storm Dennis but from the first whistle the swirling wind, reaching 50mph, dominated the proceedings.

In the 10th minute a fast break from the visitors saw Joe Lewis parry a shot from James Forrest but Callum McGregor followed up to stroke the ball home.

Aberdeen equalised in the 27th minute through Ash Taylor and made the best of the conditions in the second half with a succession of high balls into the penalty box.

With eight minutes left to play the game was decided with a fantastic team goal. Odsonne Edouard showed great control to take Taylor out of play, McGregor fed Forrest who set up Ajer on the right who showed the poise of a veteran to clip his shot around Lewis into the net.

Aberdeen had the best possession in the second half but Jonny Hayes and Edouard missed good chances in the second half as Celtic earned their eighth successive win at Pittodrie.
